Concerns

Developmental Milestones
If you have concerns, please take a look at this thorough Developmental Milestones List.

And please know, as much as this process hurts (and the last thing you want to believe is that your child has autism), finding out is the first step in reversing the symptoms.

The sooner you start treating the condition, the better your chances for recovery.

On Vaccines

Some say there is no proven link between vaccines and autism.  Some believe that vaccines are the sole cause of autism.  At Reverse Autism, we are not necessarily anti-vaccinations – we are anti-toxic assaults to seemingly compromised immune systems.

If mercury in fish is bad to eat, you can’t tell me injecting it into a day old baby is good.  Even if you remove mercury, there are plenty of other ingredients in a vaccine that make me think, “we’ll pass.”

If we can come up with a way to protect our children from disease without pumping them full of chemicals, bacteria, fungi and animal tissues…I’m open to hearing about it.  If we can create a vaccine schedule where the blood brain barrier is closed (I’ve heard after 3 years of age) prior to heavy vaccination, I’m open to hearing more.  But until then, I’ll be saying no thank you.

Know Your Rights.  Each state has a different policy for vaccines.  Find your state here...

There Are Safer Ways to Vaccinate.
You can decide how you want to do it (but be prepared to really annoy your pediatrician!)

  • Vaccinate one at a time.
  • Don’t do combo vaccines (e.g. split up MMR into measles, mumps and rubella separately).
  • Never vaccinate when your child is sick.
  • Make sure the vaccine lot is thimerisol free.
  • If you’ve got a bad feeling – don’t do it.  You can always change your mind and vaccinate later…you can’t go back.

Tracking Progress

When starting any new treatment, it’s a very good idea to track your child’s progress via this Autism Treatment Evaluation Checklist created by the Autism Research Institute.

Simply print out the form and answer the questions every week or every other week to gauge the effectiveness of the new treatments.

Autism Organizations

This list will continue to grow, but the one thing all of these organizations have in common is that they believe autism is treatable.  Every one of these organizations devotes their time to researching, supporting and advocating the biomedical and behavioral treatment of autism.

ARI, The Autism Research Institute
:
The Autism Research Institute has been at the forefront of autism research and treatment for over 40 years.  Founded by the late, great Bernard Rimland, this amazing organization was founded to conduct and foster scientific research designed to improve the methods of diagnosing, treating, and preventing autism. Since Dr. Rimland’s death, ARI continues it’s amazing mission under Director Stephen M. Edelson.

Act-Today.org :
This wonderful organization provides grant money for families that cannot afford the treatments their autistic child needs.  From protective helmets, to social skills groups, to ABA and chelation, ACT Today! does what they can to help autistic children access the treatments they need to achieve their highest potential. We do a lot of fundraising work together and Elynn is on their Board of Advisors.

Treating Autism
: One in 100 children in the UK are diagnosed with autism.  Through research, support, conferences and awareness raising, Treating Autism is spreading the word that autism is treatable throughout England and Europe.

TACA/Talk About Curing Autism : Talk About Curing Autism (TACA) provides information, resources, and support to families affected by autism. For families who have just received the autism diagnosis, TACA aims to speed up the cycle time from the autism diagnosis to effective treatments.
